Hands down, one of the best Android-based retro handhelds on the market today is the Retroid Pocket 5, and it has sat at the top of our best list, comfortably, for many months now.

Originally, it was priced at $219, which, as we mentioned, is very reasonable. However, it's just got even more reasonable!

GoRetroid has decided to permanently reduce its price to $199 as of today, making it a sub $200 handheld with enough power to emulate everything up to and including Playstation 2.

It's ready out of the box, also, thanks to GoRetroid's launcher and setup process that installs Android emulators for you with the press of a button, and they have one of the best custom launchers on the block.

This makes it a great gift for family members who want an all-around great retro gaming device with a 16:9 display that works with Android games and cloud streaming.

There's no denying that more Android handhelds are coming to the scene over the coming months, and no doubt GoRetroid themselves are working on something new, but this could be a great time to pull the trigger if you've been on the fence about this handheld.
