Today, I stumbled across a short-form video showing what looked like a normal fitness video about to tell me how fat and pathetic I am for not getting 10,000 steps a day, but I was quickly proven wrong.

A creator by the name of ShakeMistake has just finished running a half-marathon in Skyrim, and he's not stopping there.

He has paired his PC with a step-counting application via his smartphone and is using a treadmill to increase that step count via his standing desk, allowing him full access to games via his setup, all while burning calories and adding steps.

He can switch to a faster, more serious treadmill for long-distance quests, paired with a wireless hand controller, too, should he need that extra help. This step-counting application called Stepl syncs to his PC to move his character forward in the game, and the chosen game is one of the best retro games of all time, Skyrim.

SkakeMistake has promised to take 1 single step on his modified treadmill for every view his original video gets, and unfortunately for him, he now has a goal of over 1,500,000 steps to take through Tamriel.

No fast travel, no horses, no cheats. It's an impressive task, and one I deeply respect. This journey is being documented on his YouTube channel, showing all of the incredible landscapes, interesting people and difficult challenges that he witnesses amongst the mighty step challenge.

As of now, he is currently on 21,000 steps out of 1,5000,000. Not only am I interested on how he navigates some pretty difficult areas of the game, but I also want to witness just how shredded this guy is going to get over the coming months of this challenge.

Will he complete the challenge? Will the views on the original video literally outpace his daily grind, or will his legs give way amongst the unrelenting force that the long trecherous roads of Skyrim have to offer?

We wish him all the best. This is a mighty challenge, and one we will enjoy following.
