MagicX has been on our radar ever since they released the Zero 40, a handheld targeting Nintendo DS emulation, with a long vertical screen.

Now, a few months on they've released their latest device called the magicX One 35, a retro handheld that targets those want want to explore vertical games too.

Specs wise it's featuring a MediaTek Helio G85 CPU, up to 4GB's of RAM, a 3.5" touchscreen, Android 12, WiFi and Bluetooth.

To cut to the chase, that's likely to emulate up to and including Nintendo 64 and Dreamcast games. It's nothing revolutionary, even though the SoC is uncommon however the addition of an extra DPAD is new.

This allows gamers to focus on vertical gaming both on Android and via emulation, offering a cool way to explore TATE games, should that be of interest to you.

I respect MagicX for venturing down this route, they're always continuing to do build something different, which is difficult as this market is incredibly over saturated.

Pricing seems pretty competitive too, especially if you're snagging this early. Pre-orders are now live so you can save a few bucks by getting it early if this tickles your fancy.

MagicX is one to keep an eye on. As mentioned they're not going to blow your socks off in terms of build quality, but they're doing something different, which I like and I know some of you will too.
