LEGO have created plenty of retro-themed consoles in the past, such as the Nintendo NES and even the SEGA Mega Drive controller, but it could be Sony's turn to get the LEGO love.

A prominent LEGO Leaker on Instagram by the name of LEGO_Minecraft_Goat has shared an image suggesting a Sony PlayStation 1 console LEGO set is dropping in December.

It will include a console and a controller, will feature over 1,900 pieces and cost $159.99/€159.99/£159.99 and will be available only to customers 18+.

It's news we've all wanted to hear, although I am devastated for our friend AirBricks95 who has been trying to build it himself for a long while, and his LEGO Ideas page for his community-built PS1 is closing in on 10,000 upvotes as of writing this.

But if the rumours are true, Nintendo are one step ahead and is building a mature, high-piece count set for those in love with one of the best retro consoles ever made.

Hopefully, this set comes with some level of playability, alongside some hidden easter eggs! If this is the start of a LEGO X Sony collaboration, it's likely we could see even more consoles and games come to fruition in LEGO form.
