You've just started Pokémon Fire Red or Leaf Green, you've selected your starter Pokémon and picked up a few Pokéballs to truly begin your adventure, yet there's something missing.

A feeling in your soul. A certain Pokémon that you're gravitating towards, but have no idea how to find. Diglett, right? No, just me?

Perhaps it's Pikachu, the most popular and most loved Pokémon of them all, and because there's no remake of Pokémon Yellow, specifically, it's time you caught one.

Where To Find Pikachu?

There are several places to find Pikachu throughout Kanto, some requiring more patience than others, but I want to share with you the two easiest and quickest places to catch this electric ball of fluff.

Viridian Forest

The first place you will come across that has a Pikachu hiding amongst its grass is Viridian Forest, just north of where you start your adventure, Pallet Town.

If you walk around the grass closest to Viridian Forest's exit, you will have a 5% chance of finding Pikachu.

Which is a very small percentage, but with persistence and a number of Poké Balls, you'll eventually catch it, and then you have Pikachu for the rest of your adventure.

Power Plant

A bit further into the game, when you have acquired Surf HM, you can visit the power plant, famously known for finding Zapdos, the legendary Pokémon, but there's also a chance of finding Pikachu, too.

There's 25% chance of finding Pikachu, which are usually at Levels 22 - 26, so much higher than Virdian Forest, for those not wanting to strengthen their Pikachu early in the game.

Just make sure to take some paralysis heal, as the power plant is filled with electric Pokémon that will happily paralyse your Pokémon.
