Klonoa and Huepaw are back after receiving some special graphical attention, which means it’s time to rediscover how to beat Rongo Lango in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series!

Possibly the most colourful enemy and winner of the most-likely to have been created by a child award in any game, Rongo Lango is a little like a cross between a parrot and a mutant banana.

Hey, I guess the guy gets full marks for creativity!

As the first boss players come up across in the game that isn’t remotely little, he can be a little daunting to face.

But don’t worry, with a couple of well times jumps and a lot of patience, you can dispatch ‘ol Rongo in no time at all.

Get ready to check out how to beat Rongo Lango in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series right here; show Joka and beaky-emo lad who’s boss!

*WARNING* There will be lots of plot spoilers below, so be aware that you’re going to read some things that might spoil the game story for you. If, like me, you’ve heard it all before, then plough on ahead carefree!

How To Beat Rongo Lango in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series!

Klonoa and Huepaw really know how to arrive at the right place at the wrong time, don’t they.

After making their way through Vision 1 and 2, they come across two suspect looking characters; a pointy nosed goth-looking lad named Ghadius, and his small-sidekick Joka who resembles a boiled sweet with legs.

They’ve captured the diva Lephise with the hope of using her magical pendent in their schemes, and on Ghadius’ orders, Joka brings forth Rongo Lango to finish Klonoa and Huepaw off for good.

While Rongo Lango is a bit of a big brute, taking it down isn’t a tough task. When the battle begins, players will be told to throw an enemy at it from behind in order to take its health down.

I’ve played Ocarina of Time enough times and killed enough Dodongos to know how to hit that sweet spot when dispatching enemies, and beating Rongo Lango is even easier.

Firstly, make sure you use your magical ring to grab hold of an enemy. You don’t need to do anything with it right away, just wait for the right moment.

Rather than running around the map to try and get behind him, players should run a little bit and wait for him to jump up into the air.

Once Rongo Lango is in the air, double back the other way and wait for him to land. He jumps so far that you’ll easily be within reach of his tail once he lands.

Once down, get close enough to throw your enemy into his tail, and send that health bar plummeting.

Finishing Rongo Lango

Each enemy hit knocks a quarter of Rongo Lango’s health down, so you’ll only need to do 4 hits to end his (short-lived) reign of terror.

Once you get his health to halfway, Rongo will start firing out rainbow rings. Time it right and jump over them to avoid losing any health, all while watching where he’s landing. Again, make sure you’ve got an enemy in your grasp and don’t let him land too far away.

Once you’ve hit Rongo four times, he’s toast. Joka will give you some speech about coming back and getting you next time, and you’ll see a cutscene where Klonoa and Huepaw find Lephise’s pendant and head off to chat to their Gramps about what to do next.

And that’s it! Once you’ve got the pendent in your hands, Rongo Lango is history. You can move onto the next vision with ease and keep saving more residents of Phantomile from Ghadius and his evil ways.
