The Gran Turismo film trailer has officially dropped, and this looks to be an action packed joyride!

We first learned of the upcoming movie at the CES 2023 event. We covered the game and some of Sony’s other announcements here.

At that time, we learned about some of the incredible Sony camera technology being used to create the film.

It’s very cool to see Sony putting so many of their resources to good use to make this film happen.

The Gran Turismo film is based on the true story of a gamer who put his racing skills to the test in real life driving.

There is a large cast of well known actors in the film, and it has been directed by none other than Neill Blomkamp.

You might know him from his insanely good movies District 9, Chappie, Elysium. He’s even said to be tied to the future Alien 5 film.

While we shouldn’t expect to see aliens or advanced robotic beings in the Gran Turismo movie, we can certainly count on his unique film making and wild action.

The trailer touched on the video game aspects, as well as the real life chaos of auto racing. I expect this movie to appeal to a pretty large audience because of that unique blend of content.

There really isn’t much to dislike about this trailer. Star cast, underdog story, action, video games. I’m sold!

The Gran Turismo film is set to release on August 11th, 2023. I’ll see you at the theaters.
