GoRetroid Reveals Dual-Screen OLED "add-on" For Specific Handhelds

Seb our Editor-In-Chief was recently telling me to write something about GoRetroid's "cryptic" social posts recently, but I told him that I am going to hang fire because I had a hunch that it wouldn't be a brand new dual-screen display which we were all hoping for.

I was right and instead GoRetroid has revealed an OLED display add-on that can be attached to their Retroid Pocket 5, Retroid Pocket Mini and their older Retroid Pocket 4 exclusively.

This was surprising for me, and I am still not sure how I feel about it, likely because I am not the target demographic here, but I know that a lot of Pocket 5 fans will be happy to see this accessory come to life.

It's certainly going to please those that want to dabble in Nintendo DS/3DS and Wii U emulation, on a beautiful device that packs a lot of power.

As of specifics there is no official listing as of yet, but GoRetroid's social manager is doing great work replying to the community, and he's spitting facts.

The facts are that this is an OLED display that pairs to the device using the USB-C port and comes with an attachment to connect it to the devices comfortably. It's best partnered with the official grips, but it's not mandatory and can work without them.

From the image provided on their social post I believe it will be able to "close" on the Retroid Pocket 5, making it portable enough to store in a bag, however the RP Mini and the 4 is likely a no go, and can only be used statically, not folded down to be transported.

As of now no pricing, specs or release date has been announced, but my bet is that more information will drop this month, so stick around and sign up to our newsletter.
