GAMEMT have released a few handhelds in the past, and i'll admit, none of them have ever entered our top retro handhelds list but we're always excited about new things in the handheld space.
The new "thing" that GAMEMT has shown off in a recent trailer is a retro handheld with a performance gauge that you can twist to increase CPU/GPU output, should you want to make the switching of emulators that little bit more badass.
It's the first time we've seen this on a device, and although it's certainly overkill, it's different enough to give the handheld some much-needed attention.
The device itself features a 5" LCD 1080p Display, a 1.7GHz Mediatek Helio G81 CPU, a Mali G52 GPU and up to 4 GB of RAM.
We've seen similar specifications to this before, which means its can likely push the boundaries of Dreamcast, PS1, and maybe even a little bit of GameCube emulation if all is well.
It also has that PS Vita-like look that I know many handheld enthusiasts like, with a single analogue stick, shoulder buttons, and 3 different coourways: black, white and dark blue.

The dial itself is in bright red, as if it's some kind of emergency lever, or a nitros button that you find in a supercar, which I kinda dig.
Admittedly, it had to sacrifice the second analogue stick for this, which may upset some, but it's a unique touch that I want to see more of in the future.
Handhelds should be fun, and designers need to push the boundaries of design to enhance that emotion for gamers. This niche is dull when it comes to design; the only handheld device that comes to mind when I think "fun" is the PlayDate.

Hopefully GAMEMT will do more of this, but first, they need to focus on making really great handhelds before adding the palyful parts, in my honest opinion!
