AYANEO aren't having a great time of late. After the recent backlash of people's orders taking ages to arrive, and scalpers getting their products before actual backers, customers were already feeling a little down. Now, it's come to light that AYANEO have discovered that there is a battery error with the Pocket S Mini that they have literally just started shipping out.
CEO of AYANEO, Arthur Zhang, mentions in today's product livestream that the Pocket S Mini should have been sent with 6,000 mAh batteries, but due to an error with their supplier, AYANEO were given 4,700 mAh batteries instead, which were installed without knowing.
A handful of Pocket S Mini's were sent out with the smaller 4,700 mAh battery, which is now unfortunately the battery that they are officially using for all future Pocket S Mini orders.
They have changed their marketing material to reflect this new, lower battery capacity. Does the price change? Ofcourse not, the price is the same.
Customers affected will receive a free Pocket Air Mini, as an apology, which I would say is a pretty good deal seeing as that handheld is retailing for $99, and if you've read our review, it's a bloody good handheld!
The Pocket S Mini has been shadow dropped and ships next week, starting at $319 and going all the way up to $500+ if you want all of the powerful specifications and retro colourway.

This isn't a good look for AYANEO. It seems like the strategy of releasing lots of handhelds is going against them right now, which is a shame, as they do make incredible devices; however, consumers are feeling the brunt of their mistakes.
