One of my favourite games on the GAME BOY Color as a kid was Croc 2. I'll admit it wasn't the most remarkable game for the device, but it allowed me to bring my love of the PlayStation 1's Croc with me in a portable form factor.

Argonaut recently returned to the gaming industry with their Croc remake for Nintendo Switch, and it re-ignited my inner love for this adorable Croc.

And during our podcast episode with the Argonaut team, there was a small bit of joy from them when we mentioned Croc 2. Although nothing was confirmed, we're glad to see that joy was likely because they were working on an anniversary edition of the GBC version of Croc 2.

Argonaut confirms it officially this week by sharing a post on X about Croc 2's 25th anniversary, and then going on to state it will return in Q2 of 2026 with a physical cartridge to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

My bet is that Argonaut will team up with ModRetro again, the very company that released a modern version of the Croc 1 GBC game last year which offered fresh controls and modern save systems in a phyiscal cartridge, with a box and a keyring.

Priced at $49.99/£44.99, it's likely going to be priced the same, with a box and a charm too, which I am all for!

We'll share more news when we get an official date, price and extra details about the game. Subscribe to our newsletter so you don't miss out.
