We've been holding off on our written review of the RG Vita for a couple of weeks now, waiting for official pricing and release dates to be revealed.
It's becoming ever more evident that ANBERNIC are sending out samples to creators (including us) and holding back pricing in what I believe is a strategy to gather an idea on how they should price that very device.
They've been doing it for a while now, which isn't a major problem, I'll be honest, but I smell something fishy going on, and it's why Seb is waiting for today's news to finish the review, because we can't really fully review a product without knowing the price.
But if you've been waiting for it specifically and are in love with the PS Vita-like design, then you'll be happy to know that ANBERNIC has priced the Vita and the Vita Pro competitively.

The RG Vita and Vita Pro is now available on their website, with the less-powerful version named RG Vita being priced at $99.99 for early birds (with no SD card), and you have the choice of Black or Retro Grey, without affecting the price. The retail price for non-early birds is $109.99.
For an added SD Card of 128GB an extra $30, which I think is quite steep. That's almost a 30% increase in price for a 128GB SD Card that you can get on Amazon for $19. Don't forget that ANBERNIC cannot legally add ROMs to this, so it's literally an empty Micro SD card.
The PS Vita Pro is up for $139.99 for early birds, or $169.99 with an SD Card. The Vita Pro will retail for $149.99 after the early bird promotion ends. This version is a bit more powerful for those wanting to push this device to its limits and tinker with some minor PS2 emulation.
ANBERNIC RG Vita & Vita Pro Specifications

Overall, it's certainly a sleek-looking device for those obsessed with the PS Vita. It's not doing anything innovative in the space, likely due to the fact their working on a flip up handheld that leaked a few days ago, but that said, it will do most of your retro emulation in a portable, nostalgic way.
I believe ANBERNIC are shipping this instantly too, as there's no information on shipping times, which is good to know. So you can get your hands on this in a week or two!
