Everything We Know About Resident Evil 9 So Far

Resident Evil Village was announced early on the for PS5; we covered it in out best PS5 games releasing for the system back before the console even dropped and were all very excited to see where the series was now heading.
Needless to say, it didn’t disappoint!
Resident Evil Village was just as harrowing and down-right terrifying as we all hoped for. It was business as usual for Capcom, and we were all incredibly please (and in need of therapy) by the time we got to the end.
So, Chris has done in with the Megamycete and Ethan is as dead and dusty as Professor Quirrell in the first Harry Potter movie. Ethan’s daughter Rose is safe, however, or as safe as you can be in a game like Resident Evil and especially considering she’s essentially a destructive weapon now.
Technically speaking, Ethan still exists in the Megamycete, and we know that along with Chris and Rose, his story isn’t done yet.
We know that people have technically been reanimated via the mold too, which is leading us to believe that we might be seeing previously dead characters making a return.
Basically, we can agree that the Resident Evil writers are pulling out all of the stops right now, and we’re all here for it.
What Can We Expect From Resident Evil 9 Gameplay?

I think it’s safe to say that we can expect an even more in-depth storyline from Resident Evil 9. The last title was the most intricate yet, with the storyline adding so many twists, turns, revelations, and shock moments for gamers to immerse themselves in.
Resident Evil 4 was infamous for bringing in the over-shoulder view while gaming, but the Village brought things back to a default of just seeing Chris’ gun instead of his whole body. While we liked that over the shoulder view, I think we’re likely to keep the same view as Village in RE9 as the primary view as it pulls you closer into the action.
The closer you are to a zombie, the more scared you’ll be, right?
Expect puzzles to complete as you move through the game just like Resident Evil Village. Puzzles provide a little light relief from constantly being eaten by undead cretins or Miranda making you run for the nearest stash of toilet paper.
The Main Resident Evil 9 Rumours

One of the main rumours for Resident Evil 9 is that Chris Redfield is going to be returning alongside a host of famous faces from the Resident Evil franchise.
That makes it almost sound like ‘Gold – The Very Best of Resident Evil’ type of affair, which we’re not mad about at all!
And after I mentioned about the camera angle used in Resident Evil 4, there is actually a rumour that you’ll be able to switch between first and third-person modes.
Chris has also become a bit of a rogue wolf, rightly not trusting anyone now that the BSAA are essentially ready to become the antagonists in RE9.
Will we see some sort of Attack of the Clones style action with everyone turning against him? I mean, when people in the organisation you helped to found turns out to hold people that are actually bio-weapons, it’s enough to make you lose your temper, right?
And as I’ve touched on above, the Megamycete, that depraved file-o-fax of the consciousness of all the infected, seems set to play a big part in Resident Evil 9 after its big part in the Village DLC.
Are the Resident Evil characters from yesteryear that we’re about to see going to fighting people they once new coming back from the dead?
Only time will tell!
Which Consoles Will Resident Evil 9 Be Released On?

Resident Evil 9 will release on all major platforms including Mac, after Resident Evil Village finally came to Mac in 2022.
PS5, PS4, Xbox, and Windows users will definitely be playing the new title, though I doubt it will drop on the Nintendo Switch.
Resident Evil 4 was only ever supposed to be made for the GameCube, but these days Nintendo are more of a family friendly console.
There are some pretty scary games for the Switch, however, many of them Resident Evil titles. Still, I think we might have the Nintendo Switch 2 before we see the new Resident Evil game dropping for Nintendo users.
