For years now, Princess Peach has been the damsel in distress just waiting for Mario to save her. Well, thanks to the Mario Movie and her drifting skills in Mario Kart both showing how gnarly she is, Nintendo are bringing our a brand new Princess Peach game!
This isn’t the first outing that Peach has had on her own though.
The Nintendo DS saw a Princess Peach exclusive game called Super Princess Peach, with a similar feel to the side-scrolling Mario games just starring the Mushroom Kingdom’s Princess.
And of course, Peach has been a firm fixture in Mario Kart, Mario Football, Mario Tennis, and pretty much every other Mario game going.
But, like Luigi’s Mansion 4 and the wider Luigi’s Mansion series, it’s going to be nice to see her holding her own for once!
The new Princess Peach game was teased during the latest Nintendo Direct, but they didn’t give very much away at all.
So, let’s dive into all of the rumours and conjecture around the Princesses new outing and find out the release date below!

What Can We Expect From The New Princess Peach Gameplay?

So, Peach is getting her own title again, and we’re hoping that it’s going to be a lot different from Super Princess Peach.
It’s 2023, and we shouldn’t be seeing a game where a female character has to cry or scream in order to get powers to succeed in her mission. Sure, everyone’s allowed to be down or stamp their feet if they feel like it, but that early 2000’s take on Peach isn’t what we’re all about here at Retro Dodo.
So, let’s have a strong female lead who takes care of business without having to rely on Mario to save her this time!
In terms of gameplay, this game is going to be much more like Yoshi’s Crafted World meets the Paper Mario series in terms of gameplay style. Players will move along in a side-scrolling manner through a 3D world.
In other words, moving from side to side but being able to head towards the background and interacting with objects, going through doors etc.
So, no Super Mario Odyssey 2 action, but it still promises to be exciting!
New Princess Peach Game Levels

Here’s a look at one of the main levels that players will be moving through. The whole thing feels a little like a film set, what with the spotlights on the characters, but it’s definitely got that Mushroom Kingdom vibe about it still!
Peach is going to be accompanied by a little flower that is very much akin to Rosalina’s little star Lumalee.
This isn’t a surprise as Mario has Cappy and Luigi has Gooigi, so it only makes sense for Peach to have her own little sidekick.
Sorry Toad, but Peach needs someone a little more reliable this time, and you’re always off searching for treasure these days!
Expect around 15 different worlds to play through, but prepare yourself for not seeing many famous Mario faces here. Nintendo are wanting to give Peach a new start with new characters.
But let’s face it, Bowser is probably going to stick his nose into proceedings again – the guy needs to find a new crush!
The Main Princess Peach Game Rumours

The main rumour that we want to touch on in this article is the fact that Princess Peach is about to embark on some serious puzzle solving, similar to the ones found in Paper Mario and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.
That kind of tracks as Nintendo love their puzzle games, and Princess Peach must have a big-ol’ brain to be able to rule an entire kingdom!
There’s no rumour as to whether Mario is joining Peach in this adventure, but we’re going to go out on a limb and say that he won’t. Mario didn’t appear in Luigi’s first home console outing, so we’re thinking Nintendo will want to give Peach a chance to shine without old red hat joining the fray.
But as we said before, you can bet that Bowser is going to show up, so get ready to throw some fire attacks his way and send your little flower pal to cast pollen in his eyes!
New Princess Peach Game Release Date

The New Princess Peach Game is most likely to release in Fall 2024.
Nintendo didn’t show us much in their new direct which could mean one of two things – either they’ve been working on this game for a while and don’t want us to know much about what’s going on, or they don’t have much to show us.
Nintendo have stated that 2024 is definitely when we’re seeing this game, however, so we’re inclined to go with the first option and say that they’re pretty close to being finished with this game.
I wouldn’t be expecting this game to hit on the Nintendo Switch 2 though; we love Peach, but I’m not sure that she’s capable of launching a new console just yet.
Give it five years Peach; you’ll get there!

Who Is Princess Peach?
Princess Peach, sometimes known as Princes Peach Toadstool, is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Weirdly, there isn’t a King or Queen of the Mushroom Kingdom, so Peach should probably give herself a promotion.
Toads often surround her too, which must get pretty annoying as they have super high-pitched voices.
Why Is Princess Peach So Famous?
Princess Peach has been in most of Mario’s games since she first debuted in Super Mario Bros. on the NES back in 1985.
She’s often in danger and Mario has to save her, but she’s also a solid choice in the Mario racing and sports games too!
Is This The First Princess Peach Game?
The first Princess Peach game ‘Super Princess Peach’ came out in 2005 for the Nintendo DS.
It received positive reviews, but some users criticised Peach having to tap into her emotions in order to use her powers.
Is Princess Peach Mario’s Girlfriend?
Princess Peach and Mario have mutual love for each other, but they haven’t officially been classed as a couple anywhere.
I mean, she asks Mario to save her all the time and Mario always goes after her, often putting himself in terrible danger every time, so I’d say they are a couple.
If he really loved her, he’d use some of those gold coins he’s always collecting to buy her some private security!
When Will The New Princes Peach Game Come Out?
The new Princess Peach game is set to drop 2024 and will most likely be on shelves in the Fall.
