How Much Is A GameCube Worth Today?

  • March 28, 2022
  • Seb Santabarbara

Just how much is a GameCube worth today? Has Nintendo’s purple powerhouse kept its value, and what are the most sought after variations?

That’s a lot of questions in one go, but don’t worry. You’ll find out all the answers in good time.

The GameCube changed up everything for Nintendo. No more carts, tiny discs that blew our minds, and a sleek design with a handle for carrying the console to mate’s houses.

If the N64 was a multiplayer’s paradise with games like Mart Kart and GoldenEye 007, then the GameCube was a bona fide ‘versus Valhalla’. Remember all the best 4 player GameCube games and how much fun you had with those?

Yep, you can’t put a price on nostalgia.

Well, you can… I’ve done it multiple times below!

So, let’s check out how much a GameCube is worth today and discover what you’ll earn or need to pay!

(Please note: All of our market research and data is taken from eBay, as this is the most common way to sell a GameCube console. Information is accurate as of March 2022, and we will update this article on a monthly basis to keep you updated and to reflect on the fluctuation of prices. All prices are based in USD.)

How Much Is A GameCube Worth Today?

How much is a GameCube worth today - Purple GameCube console

A used GameCube is worth anywhere between $59 -$405 depending on size and whether it comes boxed with additional peripherals.

The GameCube remains one of my most used Nintendo consoles of all time. It’s the only one I’ve had to buy two of due to wearing it out through playing the best multiplayer GameCube games with my mates!

I bought a used GameCube recently and was surprised at how much the price tag was without games. That being said, it’s in great condition and came with the box intact, so it will certainly hold its value.

Sealed units sell for upwards of $325, so if you want that fresh-console smell, you might prefer to splash out the cash!

Used: $59 – $405

Sealed: $325+

How Much Is A GameCube Panasonic Q Worth Today?

How much is a Gamecube worth today - GameCube Panasonic Q console with controller

A used GameCube Panasonic Q is worth between $618 – $930, with prices rising if the console comes bundled with the original Panasonic branded controller and remote.

Look at this thing… it’s a work of art. I’ve always wanted the GameCube Panasonic Q ever since I saw a shiny picture of one in a gaming mag. Though the thought of paying so much money for a console has me sweating profusely.

For those that don’t know, this beast supported Dolby 5.1 surround sound, had an LCD display, could play CDs and DVDs, and boasted a front-loading disc tray for all multimedia formats.

The GameCube Panasonic Q was expensive back in its heyday, if you can call 100,000 units a heyday, that is.

The low sales figures are the main reasons why the Q fetches such a hefty price tag, with prices reaching close to the $1K mark if you want a boxed console.

Sealed copies are incredibly rare, but gamers can pick up a refurbished unit for anywhere between $820 – $1,189. If you have the disposition of a magpie and cash burning a hole in your pocket, then treat yourself!

Used: $618 – $930

Refurbished: $820 – $1,189

How Much Is A Gamecube Char’s Console Bundle Worth Today?

A used GameCube Char’s Console Bundle can be worth anywhere between $287-$949 depending on how many of the original bundle elements are included in the sale.

Of all the custom GameCube variations, this is the one that brings the most moolah on second-hand sites.

The original DOL-001 custom bundle came with a Gundam logo on the console and controller. It also shipped with a Gundam Char figurine and the GB player that slots into the bottom of the console.

The Char console itself without anything else sells for around the $280 mark, where as the used bundles have sold for a whopping $949.

Sealed bundles still regularly sell for upwards of $1,000, proving that the best Gundam games still hold the respect of gamers to this day!

Used: $287 – $949

Sealed: $1,000+

And that’s a wrap!
