The AYN Loki Zero is a upcoming handheld that wants to give gamers big power, for a small price, all while keeping competitors at bay with its modern design.
If you’re not familiar with AYN, they are a new Chinese company creating impressive handheld games consoles for a great price.
We have reviewed their AYN Odin, which we claimed as one of the best retro handhelds on the market for under $200, but now, with their new AYN Loki announcement, it could be that the AYN Loki Zero may be a better bet.
Previously AYN tinkered with an Android OS on the Odin, even though you could install Windows, but their new ANY Loki Zero targets Windows specifically, making it a possible addition to our best handheld gaming PC’s should it perform.

Should You Buy The AYN Loki Zero?
The AYN Loki Zero on paper isn’t super powerful compared to larger Windows PC handhelds, but it’s not trying to be. The Loki Zero wants to introduce new portable gamers into the scene with great hardware at an affordable price.
It has the same design as the Odin, which i can confirm is incredibly comfortable, and a great size for chucking in your bag when travelling for long periods of time.

The LED lights on the side and under the analogue sticks are also a nice addition, giving it that modern feel all while being just 20mm thin.
There’s also extra buttons on the back of the grips for you to map to your needs.
Don’t expect this to run AAA games, because it won’t this is a handheld targeting smaller, older PC games all while be able to dabble in retro gaming emulation up to Nintendo Wii.
The Loki Zero only comes with a single stick of 4GB RAM, which is certainly a setback when playing larger games on Windows 10.

Perhaps less intensive 2D-platformers, and older 3D games are your cup of tea? Then the AYN Loki Zero should do well in that sense, but anything more and you may start to see frame rate issues.
AYN Loki Zero Pricing
