How would you like to dock your switch inside a massive Game Boy that makes you feel like you’re a giant? If you’re anything like me, then you’re probably just throwing money at your screen in excitement in answer to that question. These pieces created by Cohoba Creations give your Nintendo Switch set-up a nostalgic look that not only pays homage to the Game Boy DMG but also provides some slick storage solutions and Joycon accessories to show off your love for everything retro.
The video below shows lots of exciting products all available on CohobaCreations’ Etsy store page, with a Game Boy DMG dock-inspired Switch Dock, a massive Pokémon Yellow cart that holds your Switch games which sits in the back of the Game Boy, and Game Boy DMG cart Joycon holders for showing off your favourite game while playing in controller mode. Take a look for yourself!
While the buttons on the dock don’t work in handheld mode (you can’t have everything I suppose), the docks themselves would make a great display piece in your gaming room and you can actually turn the switch on and off in the same place as the original Game Boy DMG. And yes, there’s a charging port on the back with a hole for your USB-C cable.
The idea of storing your games in a cart that slots in the back is very neat for 90s kids like me too, and using a Game Boy cartridge with Joycon rails is way more exciting than the standard Joycon holders that come with the Switch. The docks themselves cost around $53 and £53 and come with a randomly coloured game storage cartridge. Cohobo Creations sells these separately for around $20/£20, with the Joycon holders coming in at $17.99/£17.69. Delivery to the UK for our English readers is around £27 which isn’t too bad either!
